Account Verification Processes

Your Amazon Payments account is subjected to several verification procedures to maintain the highest levels of security, trust, and protection.

If you are a new Amazon.com customer and you create a new Amazon Payments account using the Amazon Payments website, you must select two security questions and complete the e-mail verification routine.

When you add a new bank account to your Amazon Payments account, we take steps to be sure the bank account is active and valid. First, we make two small deposits into your bank account. For your part, you'll need to check your bank account for the deposit amounts in about 5-7 business days (not including weekends or holidays). Once you locate those deposits, just return to the Amazon Payments website (at https://payments.amazon.com/) and enter both the deposit amounts and the answer to one of your security questions. If all three values are entered correctly, your bank account becomes a valid payment method.
